What is the best liquid for cleaning bearings?

The most primitive method of bearing cleaning is gasoline + kerosene. Nowadays, the society's voice for safety, environmental protection and energy saving is getting louder and louder. The technology of water-based cleaning is gradually mature and the cost is significantly reduced. Therefore, more and more people prefer water-based cleaning.

Cleaning is divided into workshop cleaning and final product cleaning. From the material to the product, the product to the finished product undergoes multiple processing procedures, during which a lot of workshop cleaning is required. The process is different, and the cleaning method is slightly different. The product structure and weight are different, and the cleaning equipment used is also different. Usually, ultrasonic cleaning and spray cleaning are used.

At present, the mainstream bearing cleaning uses kerosene, but with the attention paid to environmental protection, health, and safety, hydrocarbon cleaning agents have been accepted by many large customers and are being slowly promoted. Compared with kerosene, the main characteristics of water-based cleaning agents are as follows:

1. Good cleaning ability. Hydrocarbon cleaners are non-polar petroleum fractions like most anti-rust oils, machining oils and other oils. Hydrocarbon cleaners have good cleaning effects on such mineral oils.

Second, the boiling point is high. In the natural state, the evaporation loss is small, and the sealing requirements for packaging and equipment are not high.

3. No residue after drying. Hydrocarbon cleaners are very pure and refined solvents that evaporate completely when dry without any residue.

Fourth, non-toxic. The inhalation toxicity, oral toxicity and skin contact toxicity of hydrocarbon cleaning agents are all low toxicity, and they are not carcinogenic substances, and have high safety.

5. Good material compatibility. The hydrocarbon cleaning agent does not contain moisture, chlorine and sulfur corrosion products, and will not corrode and oxidize various metal materials.

6. Low viscosity and small surface tension. The impregnation effect of the hydrocarbon cleaning agent is good, and it is easy to impregnate into the narrow gap of the workpiece to be washed. When cleaning the bearing, there is no immersion dead space.

7. Environmental protection. And kerosene is not a special cleaning agent, the composition is complex, and it contains certain aromatic hydrocarbons, sulfur, chlorine and other substances that are corrosive to machines and harmful to human health. Water-based cleaning agents have poor cleaning effect on organic dirt. After cleaning, active agents are likely to remain on the bearing surface, which is not easy to dry and has poor anti-rust performance. Therefore, water-based cleaning agents are generally not used when cleaning finished bearings.

Conventional cleaning methods include ultrasonic cleaning, spray cleaning, and rinsing.
